EXPENSIVE TASTE IS A TECHNIQUE.
EAT THE RICH — FOOD is an independent Australian food publication about high-impact cooking, smart kitchen shopping and the delicious space between aspiration and reality. The mission is simple: make food feel exciting without pretending that a brand name, celebrity endorsement or gold-plated gadget makes dinner better.
We are building a food library across THE FEAST (recipes and cooking technique), THE KIT (equipment and buying decisions), THE SCENE (food culture) and THE DAILY (worthwhile discoveries). Our launch centrepiece is Billionaire Lasagne: a slow-cooked, unapologetically rich lasagne that offers gluten-free and lactose-free ingredient options.
THREE THINGS WE WILL NOT DO.
- Fake kitchen testing. We will identify recipes and equipment that have not been independently tested. A research guide is labelled as research, not dressed up as a first-hand product review.
- Invent deals or results. Price, stock, warranties, ingredients and allergens change. We encourage you to verify product details directly with retailers, and we do not invent discount claims or customer testimonials.
- Hide commercial relationships. If a recommendation can earn us a commission, the link will be clearly labelled and we will provide a plain-English disclosure. We may publish affiliate content, but monetisation should not dictate whether advice is actually useful.
WHAT MAKES A RECIPE A HOUSE SPECIAL?
Distinctive flavour, repeatable techniques and enough practical detail for you to make informed decisions. Some recipes are in editorial development and marked accordingly. Gluten-free and lactose-free adaptations are a recurring interest, but lactose-free does not mean milk-allergen-free, and readers should check ingredient and manufacturing labels for their own dietary needs.
THE COMMERCIAL BIT.
We are a growing publication. Our goal is to fund more original food content through clearly marked affiliate recommendations and future advertising or collaborations that fit our editorial standards. For now, links explicitly described as untracked retailer searches earn no commissions. Read how we make money to see what is in place and what is not.
